Internet TV problem that won't be solved. It would be made irrelevant by tablets!

If you’re like most Americans, you’re still watching plenty of television. Between 2.8 to 4.8 hours a day, typically. The kicker (at least to your cable provider) is whether you’re watching channels and shows broadcasted via typical cable or satellite subscription or with online TV services like Netflix or Hulu.

But online streaming services aren’t the only threat to traditional pay-TV (sorry, cable). In fact, the very devices we rely on constantly throughout the day are cutting into our TV-time. And traditional TV services are worried.

It’s called the “second screen” phenomenon. Sounds complicated, but really it isn’t. In this scenario, your television is screen number one. The tablet or smartphone in your hands or even the laptop in your lap acts as screen number two...
