While emoji began as a Japanese phenomenon, they have since spread around the world largely due to Apple introducing these funny little icons to the public via their iPhone’s emoji keyboard. And after Asian messaging apps like Line and WeChat proving that selling emoji stickers could be a highly profitable business, social networks like Facebook and Path have also joined the emoji craze in the past few years.

Although it looks as if selling emoji stickers is the most popular and effective way to monetize social products at this moment, there are other potential challenges that we have to pay attention to and avoid, especially if you are looking to expand your business internationally.
