As we all have heard and read a lot in recent years, mobile is different from other media we are used to working with. We will be using the word mobile for all devices ranging from low-end smartphones to high-end smartphones. The most important thing to remember is Focus. If your product tries to be everything for everybody, it won't stick. Focus on few things you want to do right and do it well. Secondly, mobile usage and ergonomic issues are important but usually ignored when it comes to prototyping and designing for mobile. An appropriately-lit closed space and two hand usage of mobile is simply an ideal scenario. Go for a bus-ride in Bangalore and you will see how mobiles are used in many different ways and context. Build your product in a way that works for the extremes, keeping in mind touch targets, placement and grouping of UI elements (also typography) and ergonomics...
